Unprotected road users are the group most exposed to the negative effects of road accidents. Therefore, it is for them that Lublin policemen take preventive measures, thanks to which they want to make pedestrians and two-wheelers aware of how reflective materials have a significant impact on safety.

Cyclists and pedestrians are the least protected road users, in the case of a collision with a vehicle they have almost no chance. In order to improve the safety of this group of people, Lublin Police officers on August 21 and 22 this year, they carried out preventive activities, under which they gave pedestrians and cyclists reflective vests.

The action was met with great acceptance and satisfaction. Thanks to reflections, the recipients will be more visible and thus safer on the road.

Due to the high interest in the activities and the improvement in the awareness of people who are increasingly moving equipped with reflective vests, the police from Lublin promise to resume their activities in the autumn.

Police officers also remind that one of the most important rules of road safety is to see and be visible. The Road Traffic Act, imposes on all persons who, after dark, move in an unbuilt area, the obligation to use reflective elements. A cyclist or pedestrian who moves after dark without glare, the driver can see at a distance of about 20 meters. Visible reflective tapes, however, increase this distance to over 150 meters.

Remember, however, that wearing such elements is not only an obligation, but above all our safety! One small reflection can save our lives.
