Coordinators make a collection of work clothes for Africa

250 boxes of work uniforms (Included safety vest, reflective jacket and safety gloves.etc.) collected in fifteen Spanish ports will be shipped these days to ports in Senegal, Togo and Benin.

 

Coordinator Solid aria has been working since April in a campaign to collect used or new work clothes in different Spanish ports to send it to African partners, which has had an unprecedented success.

 

Dozens of workers from ports, both Dockers and FTP, from Algeciras, Alicante, Barcelona, ​​Cadiz, Fuerteventura, Gijon, Huelva, La Coruna, Linarite, La Palma, Las Palmas, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife and Vigo, Fifteen in all, have collected 250 boxes, more than four tons, with work uniforms with reflective tape, used in their great majority, and in good condition, that will leave these days for Africa, to alleviate the shortcomings of the companions of the ports of Senegal , Togo and Benin.

 

This solidarity action has managed to collect complete EPIS: trousers, shirts, safety boots, gloves, helmets, reflective vests, parkas, masks and goggles; Material essential for personal protection and optimum work performance that in many African ports, to this day, are still not available to stevedores. This Solidarity Coordinator campaign will undoubtedly help prevent accidents in the neighboring continent.
