A driver didn’t see cyclist when he dressed in dark clothes

The driver of a van yesterday overwhelmed a cyclist who went unnoticed as he crossed the roundabout of the international bridge of Golan because he wore dark clothes and without a reflective vest. The facts happened around the 10:30 am in the PO-552. The athlete had to be evacuated by ambulance for evaluation at the Domino health center. He was reportedly slightly injured.

The driver of the vehicle lamented the accident and explained to the Civil Guard that he did not see the cyclist, who did not wear any flashy elements to make him seen on the road. The victim is a 44-year-old neighbor of Sauced. He wore a black jersey without any reflective tape, a black helmet, and his bicycle was also the same color. The impact occurred upon entering the roundabout. The van came from Portugal, while the cyclist headed down the main road in the direction of Tux. The van brushed the back wheel of the bicycle and the man lost his balance, slamming hard against the ground. The motor vehicle passed over the bicycle, which was completely shattered and turned into a mass of iron.

An individual gave notice to 112, which immediately activated the emergency protocol on the road. A police patrol of the Civil Guard of O Portion immediately went to the scene, as well as an ambulance, which evacuated the wounded. The agents regulated the traffic as a security measure to prevent new casualties. The athlete could have avoided the accident by wearing more striking costumes to alert drivers of his presence.

Agents of the Civil Guard of Traffic who traveled to the scene of the accident commented on the importance of people who like to pedal on the road use reflective clothing to be well seen.

“Wearing black clothes, helmets and bicycles is not advisable and can be dangerous. When we go out to pedal, whether to train or just go for a walk, we must wear a visible dress to try to avoid accidents like the one that happened in Golan, commented Rubén Gone, expert in cycling.
