Quite recently I had just such a dilemma, and the supporters of one and the other, presented me with a lot of arguments for and against. The main reason why I decided to change the existing motorcycle safety clothing was freezing in winter and overheating in the summer. Therefore, the choice fell on the jacket so warm to improve my driving comfort in the autumn, while the detachable membrane, which is the main cause of overheating of the body during the summer.

 

The case would be simple, if the store had one such set of selected brand – I would buy it and that’s it. However, for some time manufacturers offer us a minimum of two color versions of the model: light and dark. Well, here my seemingly simple purchase, a bit complicated … And the more I thought about this choice, motorcyclists and friends tried to help me in it – the more I did not know what to do and changed three times “final” decision. Why is it a difficult decision?

 

Let’s look at the arguments of supporters of the bright and dark textile clothes:

Dirty the textile motorcycle clothing

This is the main argument of opponents of bright clothing. If it does not look – the motorcycle is not the cleanest vehicle (especially kept “under a cloud”) and riding on it, too long not remains pure. On sunny days the problem are crashing everywhere insects that leave behind, more or less, bloody footprints. In the rain the mud is flying everywhere, and additional rain can leave on the light clothing stains.

 

Are dark clothes doing not get dirty? Oh dirty like, however, the more you see dust from sand, earth, various sorts lint, pet hair, hair. While the dark jacket of this type of soil can be easily removed, it is a clear need to work hard bit more (point A laundry or cleaning). And this is the thing on which most people complain dissatisfied with bright clothing.

 

Thermal comfort

Then again, the main argument of supporters of bright clothing with reflective tape during summer is less likely to attack the sun, thereby keeping more thermal comfort. The motorcyclist while driving is already cooled by the wind, still dressed in the black – the sun shining on the surface of the clothes feel tighter. It is however also plus! When?

 

This looks quite different matter when traveling in hot, exotic countries, because there just plain jacket (preferably also with airy panels “mesh”) seems to be the ideal solution. Although according to those actually traveling in distant countries – even in bright clothing can “boil”.

 

Appearance and visibility on the road

The appearance of clothing is a matter of personal taste – one would say that it recognizes only the color black (which supposedly slimmer) and another that clear coats look prettier. Due to the improved visibility on the road, extremely well we adopted in our country, a white helmets. Certainly, we will quickly spotted bright clothing, but wanting to improve this parameter – you can on a dark jacket simply wear a reflective vest or suspenders. And it is also not that how our clothing is visible – that we guarantee that the other drivers always we’ll have seen. There is no rule; you can only improve statistically your chances of being noticed.

Of course, all the time we consider the situation where the purchase is for one complete year-round. In autumn and spring, the rainy season you can ride in the dark, and during the hot summer jump in the clear baby doll.

 

Perhaps it depends on the producers who offer two completely extreme color versions, devoting little attention to the colors of gray, brown, navy blue mid-scale saturation. Clothing in the color would be the most practical solution for year-round riders who depend on one set of clothes for years of use.
