On August 15 begins to regulate new regulations for motorcyclists

The Authority of Transit and Land Transportation (ATTT) announced this afternoon that from next August 15 will begin to govern the new regulations for drivers of motorcycles, tricycles and their companions.

Originally the measure was stipulated to begin to take effect on July 24, then it was postponed until August 8 and now it is reported that it will be valid from August 15.

It was established mandatory, both for nationals and foreigners, the use of safety helmet and reflective garment or high visibility, such as a reflective vest, jacket or other garment, which has incorporated an attachment, either factory or that it is incorporated and that due to its characteristics of material and color increase its visibility in different climatic conditions and natural light or any artificial light source.

“The reflective garment must have incorporated two reflective tapes, at least two inches high by five long (2×5) or reflective or high visibility garment that has a reflective tape incorporated at least three inches high by ten long (3×10), stuck on the back of the garment,” said the ATTT.

You should also have reflective tapes in the front, only that the measurements will be half the size of the backs.

And if it is a garment that identifies organized groups that were circular, square, rectangular, triangular or similar shapes, they must be based on a perimeter of at least 8 inches, arranged so that it is visible. They should also have the attachment on the front, only that the measurements will be half the size of the rear.

During the journey of the vehicle, the driver and his companion must wear reflective or high visibility garments in the period between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. every day, without exception.
