Reflective Senior’s Day

Reflective-Senior’s-Day

In School, the “Reflective Senior’s Day” was made. The students prepared a reflective fashion show for seniors and a safety lecture from which the inhabitants of Pomorzany gathered information about the importance of wearing reflective vests, not only outside the built-up area, but everywhere, especially after dark.

As part of the action, art competitions were held: “Be safe on the road” addressed to students of grades I-III and “You are visible – you are safe” – addressed to students of grades IV-VII. In addition, a general school competition on road safety was organized, which was preceded by numerous safety-related activities and actions. The competition has been divided into two categories: knowledge test for pupils of grades I-III and pupils of grades IV-VII.

The ceremonial summary of the “Reflective school” campaign was also celebrated. Students proudly presented their “reflections” during the ceremony in the gym.

Ms. Paulina – the coordinator briefly reminded about the objectives of the action. A multimedia presentation prepared by Ms. Paulina and prepared by Mrs. Joanna was also watched – concerning the previously selected activities in the “Reflective school” competition. There was an interesting lecture given by the policemen Mrs. Katarina Marts, and the staff chief of the Department for Juvenile Affairs, Mr. Marci Adamou, who concerned increasing road safety by wearing reflectors, especially during the autumn season. Thanks to the commitment of the director, the police mascots: the inspector accompanied the entire meeting. The students of the school were very prepared for the final. They passed their exam in this field with their performances, choreographic arrangements and songs on traffic rules “retro-reflective”. They emphasized that they are conscious and responsible road users. During the finals, prizes and diplomas for the competitions accompanying the action in our school were also distributed: (Knowledge Competition on Road Traffic, Art Competition, Reflective Rosary). In addition, two students were awarded for social activities and special involvement in the “Reflective school” action. The official final was completed on the school pitch, where students of grades 5-7 formed a reflective inscription “SP 6” and chanted the slogan “Be safe to wear reflectors”.

During the implementation of the “Reflective School” competition in our school, many interesting and attractive meetings, competitions, classes and trips took place. Students in an unusual form reminded themselves of important rules of behavior on the road and the need to wear reflectors, which, especially on autumn evenings, are a very important element of our safe travel on the roads.

The end of this year’s edition of the “Reflective school” competition does not mean to part with the topic of security. During the whole school year, the pupils will use reflective vests and gadgets during walks and hikes, and the subject of road safety will be accompanied by activities on various subjects.

They will continue to organize school competitions, update wallets, control the obligation to wear vests and reflective elements, organize meetings and lectures with policemen to influence the safety of students at our school.

We hope that the participation of the school in the “Reflective school” competition will contribute to greater safety of students and protect them from unfortunate accidents, and the students themselves will acquire the habit of observing the safety rules and wearing reflective clothing.

This year, the campaign was also directed to parents, seniors and residents of Pomorzany, and through the local media also reached a much larger group of recipients.

The actions are already bringing results. It is noted that parents, grandparents, inhabitants use the reflective fabric attached to bags, jackets, wear clothing or shoes with reflective materials. They do it very naturally and treat it as a compulsory and even fashionable item of clothing. This was the effect of the school.
