The police have completed the testing of new uniforms

Police officers have finished testing new uniforms and other parts of the kits. On most of the police equipment, the tender will be printed and next year the equipment will be gradually changed. Changes will still go through the shirts and reflective jackets that will be tested again. All police officers should have their uniforms replaced by the end of 2019. The police serve about 40,000 men and women. According to earlier information, the exchange of police uniforms should amount to about 130 million crowns.

Prague – New uniforms and clothing components have been tested in recent months by police officers in the Central Bohemian and Moravian-Silesian regions and the police presidency. Police spokesperson Ivan Nguyen told CTK. “The vast majority of garments have been tested very positively, and the shirts and jackets are likely to change,” Nguyen said. Today’s police wear is a target of criticism. Field police officers often complain about their trousers. The new summer trousers, according to the spokesperson, have met the expectations of the police officers, yet the technical characteristics of the material from which they are made have to be assessed.

Officers in the field will receive, for example, jackets for winter and summer, reflective vests with pockets, thermo printing, caps, hats, gloves that will not pierce, and uniform sunglasses. Some parts of the equipment have been removed altogether, like women’s hats. Uniforms dominated by dark blue to black color make changes. They have a red rim and sewn on them.

Part of the change is a new form of rank. At the ranks of the current, the silver eight-pointed star will replace the five-pointed gold stars. At lower ranks, they will be silver three-pointer stars. The inspiration for some parts of the new equipment was police garments in Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands. They should be reminded of the first Republic.

The largest variation in police uniforms took place in the early 1990s. At that time, the current police clothing replaced the original green safety uniforms that the police stayed after the then National Security Corps.
