Wearing a yellow vest can get you everywhere

“We decided to test our theory that safety reflective vests have the power to transform a lambda type,” say David and his friend Sean to our Vice colleagues. On the basis of this principle, these two friends decided to conduct a social experiment: to wear a yellow safety vest for a day and see what doors this simple garment could open. They decide to start the experience smoothly by tackling a small cinema in their city. They say they passed the counter quietly, without anyone telling them anything. As the first attempt was successful, they decided to tackle more difficult places.

After a free visit to a zoo (and getting a refusal from a tourist bus) they show up at the entrance of a Coldplay band concert. They entrust Vice with difficulties to return. Although they encountered some difficulties at several points of entry, they still managed to attend the concert for free from prime places. David and Sean advise all readers to buy a neon yellow vest: “That’s all you need in life.” Their experience nevertheless highlights a real security problem…
