“Just go safely” with wear safety vest

“Just going safely” is the motto of the ADAC Foundation and Deutsche Post’s security campaign for all first years. By means of the Motorsport club (MC) Wilhelm, 175 yellow lightning protection safety vests were distributed to the first years in Wilhelm.

The reason for this action is frightening: every year up to 30,000 children less than 15 years of age are killed in Germany’s streets. This is usually due to the fact that they are not seen in traffic or are often seen too late by other road users. The basic schoolchildren without reflective vest often lack the overview, due to their small body size and the restricted field of view, whereby they often approaching vehicles “from the corner of the eye no longer recognize”. In addition, pupils lack the ability to assess the dangers in road traffic.

With the help of neon yellow safety vests, children are already visible from a distance of 140 meters. “The first years should learn and recognize that with a safety vest they are simply more visible to all other road users. This is a quick reaction to a precarious situation – that can save lives, “a press release from the MC said. The first years are enthusiastic about the West: “They have a great pleasure in it. On the high visibility vest are two reflective fortune-tellers, the Felix and the Frieda”.
