Reflective vests are a real pass for free access

Vice journalist, David Allegretto, told how he was able to visit the cinema, museums and concerts of music groups for free. For this, it only took him to wear a well-known garment…

Reflective vests are a real pass for free access to any cultural establishment, suggests David Allegretto. The Australian journalist was able to check in with a friend at the movies, the Melbourne Zoo or even a Coldplay concert without buying a single ticket, simply wearing high visibility vests. This is what Allegretto tells us in his article, published in the Vice portal.

“The world is a stratified place, important people enter exclusive places … But there is a loophole to enter places free of charge, you just have to pretend to be an important person, and people who wear high-visibility dress are important, in the sense that they fix things that no one else cares about. If they see someone in high visibility clothing (…) they naturally assumes that they are going to fix something. This causes a high visibility vest to become a key to life, “explained allegretto.

The journalist and his friend Sean began experimenting with a visit to the movies. Wearing their reflective vests, they passed directly in front of the ticket control and entered the first room they met. There they could see the movie ‘Christmas Party in the office’ (‘Office Christmas Party’).

Then the friends decided to do the same at the Melbourne Zoo.

“We walked around the entrance area for about 15 minutes smoking cigarettes, to hide our concern. Neither Sean nor I could believe that everything would work,” says the Allegretto. However, the friends managed to enter the zoo, and even Sean dared to do so by sending a greeting to the workers who were there.

After that, they attempted an even more complicated challenge. That same day, the group Coldplay made a stopover in Melbourne within their tour by Australia. David and Sean decided to try to enter the stadium where the concert was held, again, without tickets. To do this, they changed their vests from yellow to orange, so as not to differentiate themselves from the staff of the organization, and again they managed to pass without paying. However, Allegretto admitted that Sean had a friend who was on the “other side”, so if they could finally enter it was not only thanks to the safety vests.
