Road-makers install reflective tapes on the trees

Moravian-Silesian road-makers started to mark trees and barriers with reflective tapes. They choose roads with a lot of cluttered turns and tree-lines. This makes it easier for drivers to navigate in unfavorable weather conditions, and speeds up their eventual response to an unexpected situation.

On roads II and III Classes in the Moravian-Silesian Region can see drivers near the pavements of distinctive reflective strips on the trees and also the barriers in the corners. They are installed by road authorities of the Road Administration of the Moravian-Silesian Region, especially where there are dangerous stretches and long avenues of trees.

Vaclav, Head of the Karvina Center: “Especially at night and in low visibility, it is known that the ribbons are more likely to alert the driver to danger.”

Simon, Spokesman of the Road Administration MSK: “Because it is a regional matter and each region has its own specifics, we have discussed with the representatives of the police or the department of transport of municipal and municipal authorities the risk locations.”

Martin, Transport Inspectorate Karvina: “We recommend such a reflective material, reflective device.” The installation of straps on trees was also consulted by the Road Administration of the Moravian-Silesian Region and with dendrologists.

Vaclav, Head of the Karvina Center: “I consulted how long the screws are to prevent the trees from suffering.”

The tapes themselves are made of aluminum sheet with reflective foil. It performs the same function as ribbons, which on a smaller scale use pedestrians to make their visibility obligatory outside the village. They have a longer life than the earlier white marking of the trees.

Vaclav, Head of the Karvina Center: “It took the color for maybe two years and it had to be repeated, plus it was a lot of hard work. We think this technology is far better. ”

Reflective strips warn the driver of dangerous sections in five regions, such as Brutal, Ocala, and in the near future will appear in the Ostrava region in the total number of more than a thousand pieces.
