The annual campaign “Shine with a glare” was summed up

Nearly 25,000 the reflectors were sent to the inhabitants of Warsaw as part of the campaign “Shine with a reflector” – the Warsaw municipal police announced on Tuesday. Christmas trees decorated with reflectors were placed in selected places in the capital and it was possible to take a reflector from them to attach it to a bag, for example.

Christmas trees decorated with reflectors – were put up at the end of November in selected places in the capital, incl. in front of municipal police or district offices. Anyone who wanted to take care of their safety, especially in winter, when darkness falls very early, could take off such a “ball” and place it in a visible place – on a bag, backpack, or clothes.

“Through the action “Shine with a glare” we wanted – together with our partners – to remind road users that good visibility of pedestrians is of fundamental importance for their safety. Keep your reflectors, wear them proudly, and use them all year round, not just in winter. We hope that we have managed to convince you that it is worth doing,” the guard said at the end of the action.

The annual campaign aims to reduce the number of pedestrian hitches by vehicle drivers, as well as raise the awareness of pedestrians and cyclists about the dangers they may encounter on the road. – A person wearing a reflective vest can be seen already from a distance of 150 m. A dark figure, without reflective elements – only from 25 meters – reminded the municipal police.
