Apucarana distributes reflective vests to motorcyclists

Using material from the Government of the State of Paraná and passed on to the municipality through the 16th Health Regional, the Municipal Health Authority (AMS) distributed on Thursday (11) about 200 reflective vests and armbands to city bikers. The initiative is part of the programming of the May Yellow international campaign aimed at reducing the rates of deaths and traffic accidents.

 

In charge of the teams of the Epidemiology Division, the Occupational Health Division and CIPA, the delivery of the material took place in front of the Municipal Health Authority and was very well received by motorcyclists. The May Yellow Campaign 2019 has as its theme “In traffic, the meaning is life”. The month of May, is a warning for drivers, cyclists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians from around the world. Educational actions will take place throughout the month such as lectures, theaters, blitz, school visits, universities, cycling tours, and marches.

 

In 2010, the United Nations (UN) created a resolution, stating that between 2011 and 2020, new actions to combat traffic accidents would be carried out. The action was prepared following a review by the World Health Organization (WHO), which recorded more than one million and two hundred deaths from traffic accidents in one hundred and seventy-eight countries in 2009.
