Replica – Traffic police officers have focused on the visibility of pedestrians in road traffic as part of the traffic prevention action. In particular, pedestrians’ movements were monitored for reduced visibility on roads outside the village.

“In such a case, the pedestrian has the obligation to wear retro-reflective materials placed on the road so that they are visible to other road users,” police spokesman Daniel Tektite explained.

Supervision was directed primarily at-risk areas where, according to previous experience, pedestrians were expected to be on the road. They focused mainly on the area of the industrial zone near Acerbic, where the employees often go in the dark.

“Because the pedestrian duty to wear a reflective vest when outside the village on the side or edge of the road in a place that is not illuminated by public lighting, it has been in force for three years, so even the fines have fallen,” added Tektite.

Within two hours, policemen checked more than two dozen pedestrians, six of them had no reflective tapes prescribed by law on their clothing, endangering the safety of their and other road users. In addition to fines, sinners and reflective tapes were also provided. “Perhaps the financial sanctions for them were a good lesson, and in the future, the law will already be in place,” the spokesman added.
