Traffic junkers rely on children walking to school on foot

In the early morning, they are standing in front of the Schiller school wearing warning vests with reflective fabric.

– the pupils, parents, and teachers of the traffic hammers project. Together, they show their flag against the heavy traffic in front of the school and the use of the parents’ station.

Reporters of the ARD Magazine even accompanied the action a few days ago. They wanted to draw attention to the Schiller school as a positive example. The project has long been integrated as standard into everyday school life. Already For five years every morning, four parents are on the way from the parents’ stop on Dill to Schilling. “Since then, the traffic in front of the school has become much quieter,” notes Andrea Endorsement, father and traffic-tame commissary of the school. More and more parents are seeing how important it is for the child to develop the way to school on their own. “This strengthens independence and self-confidence. We are very happy about that, “says Sandra Enfeeble, mother and another traffic adjuster.

“Characteristics that are more important than ever in tomorrow’s world”, says Heinrich Booklet, Schiller School Board Chairman: “The children are as proud as Belle when they travel alone on their way to school.” This is how they learn to move safely in traffic and arrive awake and alert at school. Children are best to wear reflective vests or carry reflective tapes.

One component of the project is stars, which collect the classes when the children come to school with safety vests and on foot. With a number of collected stars agreed with the class, there is a trip to the playground or even no homework. So the children have their own incentive to walk. “Sometimes it’s the children who educate their parents and persuade them to drop them off at the parents’ home,” says Settlement.

As a responsible person, you often have the solution in your hands. That too shows this project.
