The competition promoting road safety was organized by – Road Traffic Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters, the Małopolskie Provincial Road Safety Council, the Board of Education in Krakow, the Małopolskie Provincial Office and the Marshal Office of the Małopolskie Voivodeship.
“One of the main goals of the campaign is to draw attention to the need for a statutory obligation for children to use reflective materials and to promote all initiatives limiting traffic risks,” informs Marias Wick, acting spokesperson of the Nowy Targ police.
The activities carried out in the last two months covered not only the entire school community but also the local environment. As part of the competition, many interesting and important initiatives to promote safety were undertaken, including all students along with the pre-school department were equipped with vests and other reflective elements which made of reflective fabrics, the students participated in art competitions and a competition about road safety.
Several interesting events were organized at the school, promoting the idea of wearing reflective vests, among them the “Reflective vow of first graders”, meeting with a policeman (on which prizes for the winners of individual competitions were given), “Refresh March” near the school with banners, during which the students encouraged to wear reflectors – he adds.
The competition was accompanied by the promotion of safety among seniors. The students gave reflections to seniors. The children participated in special “reflective trips” and also listened to the training conducted by the paramedic.
