RULES-FOR-MOVEMENT

In traffic on public roads, according to art. 14 of the Regulation for the application of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 195/2002 on the circulation on public roads, approved by Government Decision no. 1391/2006, the bicycle shall be:

(a) fitted with an effective braking device;

(b) fitted with a suitable, functional steering system;

(c) equipped with audible warning system;

(d) equipped at night or when visibility is reduced to the front with white or yellow light and rear with red light and at least one visible fluorescent reflective device of the same color;

(e) equipped with fluorescent-reflective materials or devices placed on wheels, which, in motion, form a continuous circle.

The main base prescribed by law for cyclists are:

Drive a bicycle on public roads if he is not 14 years old;

Cross public roads on pedestrian crossings while traveling on a bicycle;

Run with technical failures on the braking systems or on a vehicle not equipped with a buzzer;

To transport or to shoot any objects which, by their volume or weight, interfere with or endanger the driving of the vehicle or the movement of other road users;

To run on the sidewalks, unless they are equipped with special tracks for them;

To move while under the influence of alcohol, narcotic products or drugs or medications with similar effects;

To circulate within localities where public lighting does not operate, as well as outside localities, without wearing reflective vests or reflective clothing, from leaving the evening to dawn or when visibility is reduced;

Stay on the carriageway during the night.

Bicyclists need to know that when traveling on public roads. They are obliged to have their ID.
