In Lisieux, insurers and police distributed safety kit, including a yellow reflective vest, to warn pedestrians and cyclists, who are more vulnerable in winter time.

Police and insurance agents settled in the Place de la République from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm to distribute safety kit to pedestrians and cyclists in Lisieux. “Our goal is to make prevention with the most exposed users,” says Karina, mutual insurer of Poitiers. Inside the kit: a yellow vest, a reflective bracelet, and a prevention plate. All in a bag with reflective tapes.

This distribution takes place this week because every year, in the weeks following the transition to winter time, accidents increase by 40% for pedestrians. In fact, at night pedestrians and cyclists without reflective materials cannot be seen. The National Federation of General Insurance Agents Associations and France Bleu distribute 10,000 kit in “the prefectures and sub-prefectures of France”.
