Walkers are obliged by law to wear reflective vests at night or otherwise reduced visibility when moving between villages on clothing. This was pointed out by the policemen of the Municipal Police in their security event, Tomlin Gross, a spokesman for the town hall, told Zlin.cz.

A security event organized by the town police was held on Wednesday 2 March evenings. Its main component was handing out reflective strips on hand and reflector.

“In the context of prevention, pedestrians, in particular, drew attention to a new legal obligation to wear reflective materials on clothing when moving between villages and reduced visibility or at night,” said Ale Pilaf, the head of the police.

“We gave out reflective tapes, pendants and stickers, and bikes, reflectors and lights were also prepared for cyclists,” added police officer Jeri Hue, who is in charge of publicity preventive events at the city police station in Rovno, and lectures on road safety for schools.

“The aim of the event, which we will certainly repeat, is to remind all pedestrians and cyclists the basic rule for safe movement on the roads – to see and be seen,” concluded Pillar.
