Since the beginning of October, police have been trapped by five tragic accidents in which a pedestrian died after a car crash. They became less visible either early in the morning or in the early evening. Even though pedestrians have been obliged to wear reflective vests since last year, they have not even gotten used to it.

Morning mist and early dark. In the autumn months, just to increase the time when visibility is reduced, similar accidents increase. There have been just two in southern Moravia in recent days. October 15 regional and October 9 in Becalm. In the first, a pedestrian with severe injuries in the hospital died. In the second died in place.

This year, a total of five pedestrians died in the Czech Republic after a guard in October, twenty people in the whole month of the year and twenty in 2015. “Pedestrians should realize that early in the morning when they go to work. It is still dark and must wear reflective clothing,” Alice Musial, spokeswoman for the High School, said.

A fine of two and a half thousand

The police soon set off on the field early on, and the pedestrians warned of danger. “I go mostly when it’s light, but now it’s not, that’s true,” said one of the pedestrians whom the police immediately equipped with a reflective stripe.

To have a reflective element when a pedestrian goes outside the village, not only in the dark, but even if it is dawning or dimming, and there is no walkway or public lighting on the way, it is more than a year and a half obligatory. “Reflective materials are already magnificently visible at two hundred meters and the driver is able to respond at speed of ninety-five kilometers,” explained Pave from BESIP.

By the end of February 2016, pedestrians must carry reflective elements such as a sleeve or waistband for reduced visibility on clothing. The Regulation applies to people moving on the roadside in non-lighted areas of the community or outside the area. A part of the amendment to the Act on Road Traffic should primarily increase the safety of pedestrians.
