Reflective vests and bikes for 123 participants

Reflective vests and bikes

On Sunday, April 15 at 10.30, the second bike rally along the commune, organized by the mayor Pieter and the city council, set off from the Market Square. 123 people are coming with us. The route is about 16 kilometers long, and at the finish line above our lake, on the city beach waits for everyone, a bonfire, but above all a medal.

Participants already before 10.00 equipped with bicycles and reflective vests were waiting for the start on the Market. Integration, last tips, and rally started, arousing the interest of passers-by. The amateur cyclists beat a 16-kilometer route on two wheels. They traveled through the streets of the city and along the roads of the commune, to reach the city beach at Lake.

We are going for the first time in a real bicycle rally, although cycling accompanies us every day – Symons admitted. We are traveling in a group of tried-and-tested colleagues, so the adventure must be great.

In the rally next to the students, there were teachers, next to the children, the parents, next to the juniors, seniors. Age or experience was not what counted. 123 inhabitants of the city and the commune wearing the hi vis vest, who took advantage of the opportunity to participate in the next group cycling expedition successfully organized by the town hall, made this day successful. The mood was great, and the relaxation by the lake at the huge campsite compensated for fatigue.

We mostly go for the second time, although there are those who are going for the first time – say students of the school in Skype who participate in the rally. The rally is above all a good fun and an opportunity to get to know new roads and areas of our city.
