To travel to Chile need to take reflective vest in the car

take reflective vest in the car

It must be part of the security kit since 2016, according to the new decree of the Ministry of Transport. The idea is to be in the glove box or under a seat so that when the driver has to get off the road, for example, be visible to more than 150 meters.

A new safety element must necessarily carry motorists: the high visibility vest. The measure was established in a decree of the Ministry of Transport that seeks to prevent deaths from being run over on the roads. According to the National Traffic Safety Commission, more than six thousand people died from this cause in Chile in the last 10 years.

The reflective vest must be worn in the glove box or under one of the seats. Not in the suitcase, because the idea is that if the driver must get off, he should wear it with this security element that will allow him to be seen more than 150 meters away.

It will be mandatory for all vehicles, whether new or old, and the idea is for drivers to become aware and wear it as if it were the first aid kit or the triangle with reflective tape. The authority hopes that in a year everyone will have it, but if it is sooner, better, especially now that the national holidays are coming and trips out of Santiago will multiply.
