France will force motorists to wear reflective vest

As of January 1, 2016, France will force motorcyclists to wear a reflective vest if there is a need to stop on the road, as is the case with cars.

Spanish motorists often complain (and rightly so) about legislation that most of the time discriminates against other groups. Nothing to do with which they have to suffer in the neighboring country, because France will force motorists to wear reflective vest. The last occurrence of the French Government is to force the motorists of that country (and the tourists who travel by motorcycle there) to keep a reflective vest for emergencies, as is the case here with cars.

Do you know how to park your motorbike in the city?

This measure will take effect on January 1, 2016 and its objective is to increase the safety of the rider when he has to make a stop on the shoulder for any reason. The sanctions in case of not following this regulation will be of 11 Euros in the event that the agents verify that the rider does not circulate with this accessory. In addition, of 135 Euros if it detects a motorist stopped by an incident on the road without the reflective vest on. It is not enough with a garment with reflective strips; it has to be a vest like the one that is already mandatory for car drivers.

This measure will increase safety but it is a real nuisance to have to carry the vest, there is a lot of space in the car, but on the bike, the space for the load is reduced, as much as there are motorcycles that have nothing at all, zero. Users of this type of motorcycle will have to wear the safety vest in a backpack. Traditionally France has been a mirror for Spain in terms of legislation, so it would not be surprising if a similar legislation were adopted soon in Spain.
