Safety vests for schoolchildren

Every year, 30,000 children under the age of 15 are killed in traffic, often because they are not seen or too late. To prevent this and increase safety, children should wear reflective clothing, such as a safety vest, on the way to school.

That is why the ADAC Foundation “Geber Engel” repeatedly carries out the safety vest action for school beginners. This makes an important contribution to children’s traffic safety. Within the scope of the transfer of safety vests for schoolchildren now carried out nationwide, the children of the first two classes of the Sideburn School also got their vest. Bernhard Bruner, the chairman of the local ADAC club MSC at the ADAC, presented the vest with reflective material, class clerk Dagmar Pills, and Class 1 b, Franker Hartmann, to the first years.

The ADAC Foundation “Geber Engel” and its partners distributed around 760,000 security vests to the participating schools nationwide with the aim of making the school route even more secure in the coming “dark season” for the youngest traffic users. Since the beginning of 2010, more than three million first-graders have received a safety reflective vest, and MSC Weser Bad Karsh in the ADAC has already participated for the sixth time in this campaign.
