Everyone walking along the road must wear reflective clothing

Waistcoats, safety vest, badges and fluorescent stickers can be found in sporting goods stores, petrol stations, and most hypermarkets and on the internet.

Are you going out for a night out? Be careful not to get a mandate. From August 31st, not only children up to the age of 15, but all pedestrians moving on the outskirts of the built-up area are obliged to have reflective items on their clothing. A person who does not adjust, the police can pay a penalty of 20 to 500 dollars.

The amended traffic regulations do not specify what or where to wear. Reflections should just be visible to the managers. Thanks to them on the road to be safer. Waistcoats, vests, badges and fluorescent stickers can be found in sporting goods stores, petrol stations, and most hypermarkets and on the internet. Stickers are a few zlotys, bands – about 10 zł, and vests 10-13 zł.

“You may think that this order involves a lot of money, but in reality the cost of wearing reflective elements is small and certainly not comparable to human life or the cost of treatment after an accident,” emphasizes Poke. Tomorrow’s officers will be giving away the glittering footsteps on the Bialystok route. By the way, they intend to conduct an information campaign.

A person who moves on a dark road without glare is actually invisible. The driver is able to see it only from a distance of 20 meters, and this no longer gives the chance to react.

– Reflectors significantly improve visibility. Thanks to them we can see even from 150 meters. This is a huge difference, which gives a lot of room for maneuver to the driver and can often save the life of the pedestrian – praises the changes in legislation, head of the Foundation for Assistance to Accidents Road Accidents Amber.

Police statistics are scary. Nationally, the pedestrian deduction is more than 25% all accidents. In Pulaski in 2013 there were 187 tragedies with their share, of which 65 were pedestrians in the case. 23 people died and 44 were injured. Out of built-up areas, 16 people were killed and 13 injured.

– Careless entrance to the roadway, often directly behind the oncoming vehicle, passing in the wrong place, walking the wrong side of the road – lists the most common causes of these accidents. The risk of misery increases the deteriorating autumn and winter weather.

From Sunday without glare – reflective vest, the pedestrian will only be able to walk in a way intended exclusively for him, on the sidewalk or in the area of residence.
