Let the celebs get ready because they are in luck! When it seemed that there was nothing new under the sun (in what fashion means) Steven Wheeler, a Beta brand designer, creates a collection of reflective clothing to scare away the paparazzi. And no, it is not that the photographers are terrified to see the celebs dressed in that way.
The pieces contain glass beads, a material similar to the reflectors used by professional photographers or the clothing used by rescue teams. “When a photographer takes a picture of the person wearing these clothes by reflective fabric, being reflective, he gets the light back and the faces of the celebs are not visible, only his clothes,” explains Wheeler.
The collection, which could not have better title, Flashback, has been created through crowd funding in the web of the firm. If in the first days that goes on sale the success is remarkable (between 50 and 100 pieces in 30 days) begins to produce. It is a way to know better what the consumer wants and how he wants it and save costs to the company.
So far, Beta brand have created several clothes: a Hoodie, a pair of sneakers, a hat, a handkerchief and a suit, thinking both formal and casual looks by reflective material.
Although prices are not very cheap – the jacket is around 420 Euros – from the general direction of the company, with Beta brand Chris Lind land to the front, are very hopeful in the project. “They are going to sell well, anyway,” he said.
