It completed the project of education road which involved pupils of the third class of the Third Didactic Madurai. The project of Pedi bus and safety vest, proposed by ‘teacher Aurelia Minneola, was held in the afternoon additional time, in January 2011 and is intended as a completion of a similar project started last school year in curriculum time.

 

This project, which finds its natural place as part of ‘Education for Citizenship and the Constitution , is justified by the pedagogical knowledge that learning by doing is, for the person and especially for children, highly motivating and the proposed thematic area has a strong environmental impact, as well as current and highly relevant to our security.

 

The students, during several exits on foot, observed and commented on the state of the roads by focusing on the presence / absence of proper signage, some sidewalks clogged with stairs of access to private houses, garage and slides cellars, tree roots that cause bumps and dips and force pedestrians to walk on the roadway.

 

Then to put into practice what they had learned, the students were accompanied by teachers and a group of parents, the day April 14, 2010, the Bari Traffic Park, where, after a short theory session, they could drive, respecting the rules of the Highway Code, electric cars, getting to the end of the test driving a “driver’s license”.

An experience that only we Madurai was made on 25 January 2011; at the conclusion of the project a “Pedi bus” has been realized, which is a bus that goes to the foot: the students gather at a terminal and, wearing the reflective jacket, go walk to school along a route previously agreed and which provides regular stops.

 

The students are accompanied by volunteers (parents, grandparents, teachers …); purpose of the initiative, which began in Denmark and it is spreading in Italy, is to limit the use of cars resulting environmental benefits (reduction of smog and ‘noise pollution in the vicinity of the school buildings) and promote socialization among children also learn to be careful pedestrians and responsible.

To make fun of the expected experience “Pedi bus” valuable was the cooperation of some parents who have realized, for the end of the project, a real means of locomotion pattern.

 

The “Pedi bus”, is “party” from Archival square and has collected the pupils participating in the project, which put on a reflective vest and singing the song: “Koki the road”, together with the teacher and parents, they have traveled the way to GL Margi to the school, where everyone could express their observations on the experience just made.
