Reflective vests will replace fines for cyclists

In order to maintain the current trend of reducing the number of victims of traffic accidents, from the category of pedestrians and cyclists, at the level of the County Police Inspectorate (SIP), Mare, a campaign for prevention and awareness of these categories of traffickers About the necessity and the necessity of wearing the reflective vest. Thus, with the support of the Mare County Council and the Mare Territorial Authority for Public Order, 1,000 reflective vests were purchased, which will be distributed to cyclists, mope dusts and carriages, both in urban and rural areas, through police workers.

This year, there were 46 road accidents, with seven dead. Fortunately, the number of cyclists with wearing yellow vest involved in such events is lower than last year, one of which was seriously injured, unlike the same period last year, when two serious injuries were recorded in this category. As far as the number of pedestrian accidents is concerned, they have dropped to five compared to the eight in 2013, while the number of deaths has increased, from zero in 2013 to two this year.

At the first action that took place yesterday in the area of ​​the flea market, along with the traffic police officers in Mare, participated the president of the Mare County Council, Adrian Steve, and the deputy head of the inspectorate on public order, chief commissioner Florentine Lad. Trafficked people were the one not properly equipped, occasionally sanctioned with a warning, and at the same time received reflective clothing to be visible at night or in adverse weather conditions.
