Students receive 500 handed reflective tapes

Since the existence of Road Safety (1962) is one of its main tasks in the school safety. For more safety in the dark winter months, all students of primary school locations Wessanen are now equipped with free reflective bands.

Since changing the clocks to standard time the morning walk to school takes place in total darkness. In addition to specific backup support measures as school plan, Yellow feet, crossing guards, reflectors overhangs or the walking bus, the main task of the school safety is still within the family – for example by practicing the way to school.

“You know that this is so healthy when you come to school on foot!”, Turned Wolfgang Simon, Chairman of the Road Safety, during his current visit to the school on the mountain to the girls and boys of the class 4a.

Barely noticeable bright clothing

But a brief examination of the clothing clarified random sampling: Very few children start their way to school in high-visibility clothing. Dark colors such as blue, black, gray or purple give predominantly the tone; reflective elements on the satchel are often not sufficient.

Clack tapes have greater wearer acceptance

“Unfortunately, it rarely sees the yellow safety vests for school children, probably because they identify them as little schoolchildren. The clack bands have a greater carrying acceptance with security since the reflectors just by adults, especially joggers, be worn, “Wolfgang Simon said.

To ensure the students of all three primary schools optically better f can thanks to a district-sponsored project present free 500 reflective strips them now. With one click, this wraps around your arm or wrist and is visible when irradiated with light already 100 meters away.

Next transfer at Nicholas morning

“Let us shine like the candles!” Wolfgang Simon and his companion Johannes called for primary school children on at their meeting in the auditorium. The clack bands held vertically over the heads of the girls and boys stood briefly for demonstration purposes in the light of a radiator.

Following the transfer of 76 reflective tapes in elementary school Wessanen and 186 further to the primary school students, on St. Nicholas a final action of the Road Patrol at the elementary school is planned.
