Reflectors on outerwear after dark are the responsibility of walking on rural roads. Reminder: from 31 August. Every pedestrian who moves after dark on the road outside built-up areas, must be placed in a reflection visible to managers. For the lack of reflective material element threatens mandate.

 

Every year on Polish roads are killed hundreds of people. A significant proportion of the victims are people moving after dark along unlit roads. The reason for the tragedy is not only carelessness of drivers, but above all, the inability to see people moving on the road. In many cases, especially in difficult weather conditions and limited visibility, the driver notices a pedestrian at a time in which the proper response is virtually impossible. With even a slight element of the reflector driver he is able to see a pedestrian from a distance of 150 meters. It’s time to react, which can save lives.

 

According to the amendment of the Law on Road Traffic, each moving pedestrian after dark on the road outside the built-up area is required to use safety vest with reflective elements. Failure to comply with this obligation may result in 100 zł mandate. The police are, however, agree that no legal regulation is a substitute for common sense, so appealing: Wear reflective, because they can save your life!

 

Law enforcement officers are appealing to all, both for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, with special caution and consideration. Each pedestrian and cyclist should also be aware of your safety and take care of it, to be visible. Reflective vest, pendant, bracelet, or even an ordinary flashlight will make moving around the dimly lit road will be more visible to oncoming drivers.
