Motorcycles and scooters: it is compulsory yellow vest and gloves

In January, motorcycles drivers, motorcycles and scooters will have a yellow reflective vest on hand and driving with approved gloves.

This could again put bikers angry. With the New Year, PTW owners will have to bow to two new obligations. The yellow vest, any driver or motorcycle scooter will have to wear hand in his saddlebags or top box, while it is mandatory for motorists since 2008. Otherwise, the offender is liable to a contravention of first class to 17 Euros. And as for motorists, the biker will take it in case of emergency stop. Otherwise, he risks a fine of 135 Euros.

The other equipment that becomes obligatory is the gloves. No mittens or gloves in wool, but duly certified leather gloves. The decree establishing this obligation shall be published in the coming days.

“It will help not to destroy the hands”

We know the two-wheelers love freedom, and then what do they think of these obligations? In the category of good students, there is David, 41, biker to the fingertips. “I have the helmet, boots, a leather jacket, gloves and a yellow reflective jacket in my bag.” You want to put him 20/20; especially as according to him, require gloves to all motorized two-wheelers; it is a measure of common sense. “I always gloves. If you get fart mouth, it will help not to destroy the hands.”

“Its 60 Euros a pair,” he says. He has an idea that could encourage all drivers to equip themselves: “There might be a small financial help, or may be a drawback in insurance so that we can equip.”

“Intrusive rules that are added all the time”

He would calm, 34, who drive a scooter. He bought a safety vest and reluctantly approved for gloves, it is not nearly equip. “It’s pretty compelling. Everyone should be free to decide or not to wear gloves based on the risk it takes.” He, irritated “rules and more that are added all the time.” He finds it “intrusive”.
