Councilor Municipality Dido Bock of Kisi on behalf of itself and residents filed a complaint for improper performance of road section 544 Dior, the reconstruction, as we read in the letter to the Board of Regional Roads disregards the safety of cyclists and pedestrians without safety vest.

Mr. Bocce in the complaint goes on to say “We have a twenty-first century, and the road, which was created for huge amounts of money, has no safe place, where they could move cyclists and pedestrians. There is no cycle path or shoulder. I dare say that before reconstruction the road was “friendlier” for pedestrians. It is from the same village Kisi many people moving on foot to get to Dial, because they have no money for transport. In this section it is already the road where cars move quite quickly, despite the speed limit. Besides, there are there non-stop busy, drives a lot of trucks because it is the main route to Warsaw. The road after reconstruction is slightly narrower, which makes overtaking pedestrians and cyclists in a way that does not threaten its security. They can be set-off or pushed to the railings or the ditches. They will not help even a reflective vest. Protective barriers are very close to the road. There is no space to move around on foot, between the edges of a road barrier. And the barriers instead of shoulders are deep ditches, which in turn threatens both people and vehicles. My big question is, does it have to happen there human tragedy that someone finally thought that with such a large investment should be taken into account the safety of other road users. The road is not yet completely finished, so please consider there to create a bicycle path”

Reflective elements are mandatory after dark in rural roads

Reflective vest, key chains, lanyards and wristbands must be worn on the arm, back or knees. Such elements of the garment significantly increase the safety of pedestrians on the road, because it increases the visibility of seven.

Poland is on the second place among European Union countries in terms of the number of children dying in traffic accidents. According to the report of the Police Headquarters in 2014 it took place in Poland 3210 road accidents involving children aged 0-14 years. As a result, 80 children have died and more than 3.5 thousand. It was injured. The vast majority of all fatalities among children aged 0-6 years is a passenger vehicle. For children from the age group of 7-14 years the most traffic fatalities were pedestrians.

In the European Union each year about 800 children are killed on the roads. Only in Poland, as shown by data from 2012, it is approx. 90 children. This problem exists and therefore it is very significant – says Powel, CEO CUBE.ITG, the company, which together with the Polish rally champion Kinetin promotes among children wearing reflectors.

Reflective greatly increase the safety of pedestrians and cyclists on the road, according to the law on road traffic obligation to wear a pedestrian everyone, not just the child who moves after dusk outside the built-up area, for the lack of reflective element penalty in the amount of up to 500. According to experts glare sevenfold increase the likelihood that the driver will notice a pedestrian and thus have time to brake or evade it safely.

A pedestrian who does not have reflective elements, the weak aura is visible from a distance of 20 meters, with a reflective element is from 150 meters up to 300 meters – says Powel.

For the reflective element considered to be among vests, leashes, pinned to clothing or backpack fobs and wristbands. You can buy them at sporting goods stores and stationery in most supermarkets, clothing stores or safety reflectors and petrol stations. Many stores offer specially designed for children reflecting pendants in the form of animals or cartoon characters. Sam reflective element is not enough – is equally important to its proper location, best to wear it on the shoulder or somewhere high on the leg. Then the driver has the opportunity to actually observe this sign – says Powel.

In September 2015 in Wroclaw Group CUBE.ITG initiated a “Reflective kids.” Its aim is to educate children having to wear reflective elements on clothing. For safe driving behavior of pupils urged Caveman, four-time Polish champion in general classification of the Polish Rally Championship. He gave away too reflective bands logo Team Rally Kato and social campaign “Family in shape.”
