France will force motorists to wear safety vest

safety vest

From 1 January 2016 France will force motorists to wear reflective safety vest if the need arises roadside stop, as with cars.

Spanish riders often complain (rightly) of legislation that most often discriminated against them compared to other groups, although nothing to do with what they have to suffer in the neighboring country, because France will force motorists to wear reflective vest. The last occurrence of the French Government is to force motorists that country (and tourists moving in bike there) to carry a reflective vest saved for emergencies, as is the case here with cars.

This measure will come into force on January 1, 2016 and its goal is to increase motorist safety when you have to make a stop on the hard shoulder for any reason. The penalties for not following the rules will be 11 Euros in the case that agents check that the rider does not circulate with this accessory. And 135 Euros if it detects a motorist stopped by an incident on the road without a reflective vest position. It is not enough with a garment with reflective tape; it must be a vest as it is already mandatory for car drivers.

This measure will increase security but it is still a real bummer lugging vest in the car there is a lot of room but on the bike the cargo space is reduced as much as there are bikes that do not have anything, zero. Users of this type of bikes will touch them to carry in a backpack vest.

France has traditionally been a mirror to Spain in legislation, so not surprised that soon in Spain similar legislation was adopted.
